Something different

There is something different about Brooklyn these days. Yes, she just keeps getting prettier; yes, her hair is a little shorter; yes, she just looks more mature but the latest change in Brooklyn's life is the addition of braces. She had an expander put in her mouth at the end of March and now it is braces for the next few months. Her mouth has been a little sore but she is so tough. Brooklyn your adorable.

Laguna Hills

I really do consider myself one of the luckiest people on earth and this weekend is one of the many reasons why. Thank heavens for amazing friends who are willing to do HARD things and make it so much fun. Labor day weekend we (me, Tishia, Tiffany, Jenny and Minnie joined us later) headed out to Laguna Hills, California to run a half-marathon. We had soooooo much fun!

We spent the first day driving and shopping and shopping and shopping...

The next day we made it to church at this beautiful Spanish style, 2-story building...

ate great food...
walked along the beach...
jumped at the beach...
picked Minnie up from the airport and jumped on our beds at the hotel room (just Jenny and I)...and then tried to get some sleep for the big race.

Ahhh, relaxing our sore muscles.
Thank you ladies for a fun filled weekend and for your amazing friendship.

The night of a lifetime!

Wow, it's really her!

Singing-Singing-Singing

Brooklyn, sending her love to Taylor.

WOW! Brooklyn has loved Taylor Swift for a long time and it was so much fun to watch the excitement in her eyes as we got to see her perform live in concert. Brooklyn's cousin, Sydney, and her mom got to come with us which made the night even more exciting. The opening acts were 'Gloriana' and Kelli Pickler. The whole night was unforgettable.

6 years and still running!

Scott and I have been running a race for 6 years now-trying to just keep Nathan in our sights. But it is thrilling and that is why we are still running. All he wanted for his birthday was a pinata and a playdate with his friend Kendall, and he got both. Happy Birthday buddy-We love you!

The Wedding

So my life has been just a 'tad' (ha ha) busy the last 3 months, but I know that if I don't take a minute a document the highlights I am going to regret it. So here goes (be patient with me because it's going to take about 10 post to catch up)...
May 15th was a very exciting day for our family. With the help of friends and family my home was transformed and we had a wedding. Scott's sister Kim married Shawn Sharp in our formal living room and we had the recption in our family room. We are lucky to have Shawn in our family and we wish them both every happiness. Congratulations!

Sneaky Snake

When I was a young child my dad was a radio DJ. I think all 5 of us kids thought it was the coolest thing that our dad was on the radio and it made us a little more special that our dad was 'famous'. Our birthdays were especially fun; he would announce to all his listeners that it was our birthday and then play "Sneaky Snake". I loved it!

Dad, looking back, 'sneaky snake' is just one of many things you did for me (sitting for hours so I could plaster your hair with barrettes and ponytails, giving me a day off from school every once in a while so I could fill my bucket, letting me stand on your feet so you could dance me across the kitchen, buying me the biggest granny smith apple you could find because you knew I loved them...) that helped me learn some of life's most important truths, some of which are:

~I am loved.
~Laughter is the best medicine.
~Don't take yourself so seriously.
~Work hard, it pays off.
~Don't let anything get in the way of your dreams.
~Honor your Mother.
~You are a daughter of God.
~When the world beats you down, you can always come home.

I love you Dad, have a wonderful Birthday. Thank you for all the love!

Let's just call it "Lake Powell Preparation"

It is starting to warm up here in Arizona and for our family this is exciting because it means...BOATING SEASON! We just have one little problem this year...no boat! How do you prepare for Lake Powell, practice your switchstance start or perfect your wakeboarding skills without a boat? You have to get creative and of course, recruit your children. This is what it looks like...

I love my husbands enthusiasm!
